Waterproofing

Our systems guarantee top of the line functionality, installation and performance of waterproof coatings, caulking, and moisture protection systems for both commercial & industrial projects.

Most floor coating systems for parking garages are required to meet the highest demands as they are subject to different stresses both environmental and man-made. Our team offers the best solutions to repair, protect and maintain these surfaces.

These solutions include a wide range of durable floor coatings systems that are designed to meet the requirements of each specific area within parking structures.

Advantages of the systems we use:

  • High wear resistance
  • Waterproof
  • Chemical Resistance
  • UV Stability
  • Slip Resistance
  • Rapid-curing

Self-leveling concrete has polymer-modified cement that has high flow characteristics and does not require the addition of excessive amounts of water for placement. This solution is typically used to create a flat and smooth surface with a compressive strength similar to or higher than that of traditional concrete prior to installing interior floor coverings.

This product can be used as an underlayment for tilecarpet, or other floor coverings.

Concrete toppings applications include warehouse floors, light industrial applications, retail stores, and institutional facilities. These toppings can also receive pigmented color dyes, stains, saw cuts, or mechanical polishing to produce a decorative concrete finished wear surface.

Water leaks through cracks, joints and voids can be repaired with highly successful injection systems, utilizing chemical grouts such as multi component acrylate gels and single component polyurethane resins.

    • Hydrophobic Polyurethane is usually used to fill voids and stabilize soil because of its low viscosity, high expansion rate, and ability to set up under wet conditions without diluting.

When injected into loose soil or voids, this material expands to form a rigid foam that displaces any water present. The material expands in soil and forms a strong, impermeable mass by binding the soil particles together. Because rigid hydrophobic material is not affected by fluctuation in the moisture content of the soil, it is virtually unaffected by water level. It retains its strength, size and impermeability under almost all soil conditions.

  • Acrylate Gels are very flexible, super low viscosity, hydrophilic gels designed for non-structural injections of cracks, joints, voids, and used for grid, curtain, bladder injection and as sealant in the injection tube system.

Due to their extremely low viscosity and low surface tension, polyacrylate gels offer superior penetration properties.  Acrylates are gel time adjustable to meet jobsite conditions such as temperature and injection distance.

Elevator pits are structural systems that are highly susceptible to water intrusion, which result in structural or mechanical issues. Typically, elevator pit  water intrusion issues are repaired by applying a membrane, coating or bentonite based blankets under the slab and on the exterior of the pit walls. These act as barriers on the surface of the concrete to prevent the penetration of water.

  • Positive-side waterproofing –  is the best method for protecting the concrete, the steel, and also the interior space. By waterproofing your elevator pits during pre-construction, you get the maximum performance out of your waterproofing system when you use the proper application procedures.
  • Negative-side waterproofing – refers to waterproofing your elevator pits from the inside.

Our team will identify all of the areas of water intrusion, evaluate the structure and tailor the best application process to address each concern. All of our elevator pit waterproofing methods are based on their reliability, accessibility and long-term durability.

Below-grade waterproofing is the construction process of applying coatings and membranes to the walls of a building’s foundation below ground level. This process is critical to long term performance of any type of structure. High performance waterproofing solutions are required to provide dry interior spaces and protect the foundation system throughout its intended service life.

To ensure these requirements are met, East Coast Coatings recommends products which help to balance the needs of strength and durability with the time and financial challenges of a modern day construction site.

Our team offers the best strategies to meet the challenges of any site condition and keep the below grade areas leak free.

•Sheet Applied Waterproofing

•HDPE/Bentonite Sheet Membrane Dual Waterproofing System

Using waterproofing membranes, specialty coatings and sealants, our team of professionals will make sure your structures and surfaces are water resistant. Waterproofing decks protect the surface from water damage, prevents cracks from forming, protects from UV rays and prevents mold.

East Coast Coatings’ methods guarantee moisture cannot penetrate into your balcony floor where it can cause costly damage. To provide the most effective results, our experts evaluate the state of conservation of the flooring and substrate, verify the layered section of the structure, and confirm the slope of the flooring is appropriate. Our team will then provide you with the most suitable waterproofing solution to your problems.

Some of the systems we provide:

  • Rolled membrane waterproofing systems
  • Cement-based liquid compound waterproofing system
  • Waterproofing solutions under the substrate
  • Bituminous membrane waterproofing system

Caulking and sealant products are designed to complement other waterproofing systems to help protect the building’s envelope. Expansion and control joints are incorporated into a structure to accommodate expansion and contraction forces. Because expansion joints are essential to a structure, restoring damaged or deteriorated sealed joints are necessary to prevent the intrusion of unwanted elements into your building envelope.

Caulking and sealants are available as:

  • Liquids applied
  • Pre-formed systems

The building envelope separates the interior of the building from the external environment and includes the roof, walls, windows, glazing, floors and all the joints in between. In addition, the building envelope presents great opportunities to enhance sustainability of buildings throughout their life.

Using the right combination of products, East Coast Coatings, can remove, prepare, and apply sealants in any type of building opening to ensure your buildings’ protection from any type of air or water intrusion.
